Aram Bartholl was born on Decemer 27, 1972 in Bremen. He studied architecture at the University of the Arts, UdK, Berlin and graduated in 2001 as diploma engineer by the assignment 'Bits on Location'. He also won the 2001 Browserday competition with this work. As a student assistant 1997-2000, he conducted university projects of Phillip Oswalt, Wilfried Hackenbroich and Anna Klingmann. During his studies, he completed a 10 month internship in the architecture office MVRDV Rotterdam. Aram Bartholl is member of the 'Urban Media Salon' founded by Mirjam Struppek and regulary visits the annual Congress of the Chaos Computer Club, CCC, Berlin. He works as freelance concept creator and designer among others for MVRDV, DMC, Fraunhofer Institut Fokus, Institut for Electronic Business and City & Bits. Since 1995 he lives and works in Berlin.
