Rotraut Pape, born 1956 in Berlin, lives and works in Hamburg and Berlin. She studied Free Art at the Kunsthochschule Hamburg and since 1977 she does video and film works. Together with Andreas Coerper, Elisabeth Fiege, Oliver Hirschbiegel and Kai Schirmer she was 1981-87 a member of the performance group M.Raskin Stichting ens. Amongst others, she works as an editor for the video magazine Infermental, Frigo, EMAN (European Media Art Network), Van Gogh TV and Universcity TV. In the artist collective Raskin she created from 1986-1994, together with Andreas Coerper, videos and installations. Since 1991 she is author and online editor for experimental TV documentations, has been teaching at university and exhibited at several national and international solo and group exhibitions.
