Byung-Chul Han [kr]
Byung-Chul Han, born in Seoul, South Korea, studied philosophy, German studies and theology in Freiburg and Munich. He achieved his master’s degree in Munich, his doctor's degree 1994 in Freiburg and habilitated 2000 in Basel. Since then he works as a lecturer at the philosophy department in Basel. In his research he focuses on philosophy of the 18. – 20. century, ethics, social philosophy, phenomenology, cultural and intercultural philosophy, aesthetics, religious philosophy and media philosophy. In his recent essay 'Hyperkulturalität', he describes the new global culture of networking and deracination.
