Jan-Peter E.R. Sonntag [de]

Jan-Peter E.R. Sonntag was born in 1965 in Lübeck, Germany. He studied trombone and then fine arts, art theory and philosophy in Oldenburg where he was assistant of Karl Jaspers. Between 1993 and 1995 he worked as a curator at the Stiftung Weimarer Klassik for experimental arts and music. Since 1979 he develops experimental audio performances, which he started to show in 1988. Since 1990 he creates locative, interactive installations including light and sounds. Since 1995 he dedicates to the interface between human body and technical systems, while since 1998 his works are mainly concerned with the concept of space. His first opera 'N-Spiral' was performed in 1999. In 2000 he presented 'ratio agendi #2 - SANDMANN' at the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart and 'Bowling am Tiber' in Dresden, Dortmund and Hannover. Jan-Peter E.R. Sonntag is founding member of 'unerhört', Bremerhaven, 'oh Ton', Oldenburg and of the Edition HORCH. He co-founded the 'hARTware' project and 'slap - social landart projects'. In 2002 he founded N-solab.
