The Russian Net artist Olia Lialina, born in 1971, studied journalism at the Lomonosov University in Moscow. From 1996 to 1998 she was the director of the CINE FANTOM film club and co-organisator of the CINE FANTOM festival and the make-world festival. Lialina founded the First Real Net Art Gallery (

http://myboyfriendcamebackfromth.ewar.ru/). Since 1999 she teaches as a professor for New Media at Merz Akademie in Stuttgart.
