‘Viva La Vaches’ is a studio live recording from autumn 2005 by the Tie Guan Yin duo (Yan Jun and Wu Quan). It is entirely improvised under a circular method: feedback, loop and delay. Yan Jun plays an audio signal generator, pedal, sound forks and voice. Wu Quan plays laptop and electronics. Both of them are close friends of FM3, and when FM3 released the ‘Mort Aux Vaches’ album on Staalplaat, Yan Jun and Wu Quan decided to follow with an album titled ‘Viva La Vaches’, because they were born in the year of Ox (Vache).
