Arthur Kroker, born 1945 in Red Rock, Ontario, Canada, studied at the McMaster University Ontario, Canada, where he received a Ph.D. in political science in 1975. Today he is Canada Research Chair in Technology, Culture and Theory and Professor of political science at the University of Victoria, Canada. He and his wife Marilouise Kroker publish the internationally renown electronic review 'CTheory' and he is director of the Pacific Centre for Technology and Culture. Kroker is the author of numerous books on technology and culture, including 'The Possessed Individual: Technology', 'French Postmodern', 'The Will to Technology and the Culture of Nihilism: Heidegger, Nietzsche and Marx'. He is co-author of 'Data Trash: The Theory of the Virtual Class'.
