Elisabeth Schimana studied electro-acoustic and experimental music with Dieter Kaufmann as well as musicology at the University in Vienna. After study visits in England and Russia primarily in the areas of voice and electronics, performative electronic arts, she founded the Istitute for media archaeolgy (IMA) and worked as a vocalist, performer, composer, radio artist and process manager in the electronic field.
