Aleks Kolkowski [uk]

Aleksander Kolkowski studied music at London University and the Royal Academy of Music in London.
Since then and for more than 20 years he has found his international audiences as violinist and soloperformer and composed music for dance, theatre and film. Kolkowski is also the founder of the Recording Angels, a project that - during performances and installations – probes by means of outdated recording devices like wax cylinders or acetate-records into our relationship to audio-recording. For the Edition Edison Kolkowski plans to acoustically capture the moment in which the sound recording medium is produced.
The result will be infinite loops on old, still unused media of the early 20. century.
