Ismael Zayer [iq]
Ismael Zayer, born 1947, studied Electrical engineering and Fine Arts in Iraq and took a post-graduate course in international relations at the Free University in Brussels. He worked as a journalist and graphic designer in Iraq and Lebanon and was correspondent for several newspapers in different countries, among them Al-Khaleej, al-Hayat and The Hague. Furthermore Zayer was consultant of the Iraqi Media Network SAIC, NGO trainer, co-organizer of journalism workshops as well as chairman and co-founder of the Iraqi Journalists Forum and founder of several independent newspapers in Iraq. Today Ismael Zayer is the owner and editor in chief of the independent Iraqi daily newspaper Al-Sabah Al-Jadeed (The New Morning) as well as chairman of the Iraqi Journalists Union, of the organisation Civil Pillar Iraq and member of the board of the independent news agency Aswat al-Iraq.
