Stelarc [au]

Stelarc was born in 1946 in Cyprus and lives in Melbourne, Australia. He has presented his projects, performances and prosthesises on festivals in Japan, USA and Europe. Stelarc has been dealing for more than twenty years with the the relationship between human and machine. His spectacular actions always activate the consideration about this interface. Stelarc exhausts the existing technology to transform himself into a cyborg and to connect his body to the internet. As techno-shaman he enunciates the entry to the postbiological age evoking as much fascination as refusal.
