The archive was established by his wife Edith Flusser in Den Haag, 1992, and was given into the care of Siegfried Zielinski 1998. In 2007 the archive moved with Prof. Zielinski`s Chair of Archaeology and Variantology of the Media from the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne to the University of Arts Berlin.
The archive sees itself as an intersection of international research on Vilém Flusser and endeavours to enhance accessibility to the work of this influential thinker. In addition to its own projects, such as the event and publication series International Flusser Lectures and the editions of the Bochum Lectures 1991, the _Vilém_Flusser_Archiv seeks to promote and support international publications, scholarly and artistic work and events. Universität der Künste Berlin, _Vilém_Flusser_Archiv, Grunewaldstr. 2-5 Opening hours during transmediale.08: Thu 31 Jan, 13 - 15 H (as well as by arrangement: flusser@udk-berlin.de) http://flusser.khm.de Photo: Michael Jörns |
