see as well: Marshall McLuhan Salon: Wednesday 30/1 - Sunday 3/2, 10:00 - 18:00 @ Embassy of Canada The Marshall McLuhan Salon – the multimedia information centre of the Embassy of Canada – presents a unique collection of historic film and audio material as well as documentaries about the Canadian media philosopher Marshall McLuhan and his widely debated theories. Making use of state-of-the-art Canadian technologies, the exhibit deals intensively with McLuhan’s theories and aphorisms such as “hot and cool media“, „the medium is the message“ and „the global village“. Visitors can explore Marshall McLuhan’s ideas by means of 30 video clips, 15 radio recordings, interactive CD-ROMs and a continuously growing collection of publications by McLuhan and other theorists.
