With artists, speakers and visitors from across the globe transmediale08 wrapped up at Berlin's landmark 'House of World Cultures' on February 24, 2008. We would like to thank all of our participants, partners, contributors, and the many great teams that came together to set up and run such a complex, poetically charged and thought provoking event! The distinguished guests and participants of CONSPIRE... helped further cement the transmediale as one of the leading international venues for the exchange and dialogue on art and digital culture.
The theme, challenging the common notions of conspiracy, helped intensify and inform our own understandings of digital communities, collaborative and network practice, while questioning the many mechanisms of control and information "creep" that technological society is confronted with on a daily basis.
Impressions, reviews and documentation on transmediale.08 can be found in the archives and respective programme sections. Publications, including the first edition of the newly released German and English language transmediale_parcours "CONSPIRE." featuring texts, documents and original art pieces by transmediale.08 participants are still available and may be ordered here!
